Fasting, restrictive diets, and lengthy intervals between meals are also unfavourable in this regard, as the body does not obtain the appropriate quantity of energy when it is required. Stress is also a significant culprit, as it negatively affects the regulation of blood glucose. It encourages the body to release numerous hormones (including cortisol), resulting in metabolic alterations and sugar level swings.

How to improve glycemia?

An important step in improving your well-being and reducing the symptoms of neurosis (or other mood disorders) is sugar regulation. To do this:

  • Limit refined carbohydrates in your diet: white bread, sweets, table sugar.
  • Choose complex carbohydrates: multigrain products, thick groats.
  • Choose products with a low glycemic index .
