Prime Minister Gilani has been appointed Lt Gen Zaheer Islam as the new chief of Inter Service Intelligence. The present chief’s term will expire on March 18.
It is said that the new chief is very close to General Pervez Kiani. He is currently working as the corps commander of Karachi. I would like to tell my blog readers that he has worked in the ISI as a deputy director from 2008 to 2010.
Lt Gen Zaheer Islam hails from Punjab province. He will retire in October 2014.
