Why do so many patients with high blood pressure suffer from diabetes?

Discover the reason for the first time

Many people with high blood pressure also suffer from diabetes and it was not yet known why this happens but now medical experts have come to know the secret.

This was revealed in a new medical study .

A joint study by the University of Bristol in the UK and Auckland University in New Zealand found that a protein cell GLP1 regulates both the body’s blood sugar and blood pressure.

“We have known for a long time that blood pressure and diabetes are linked, and now we know the cause, which could help in the development of new treatments,” the researchers said.

GLP1 secretes food into the stomach and acts as a stimulant for insulin to control blood sugar levels. The sensory organ stimulates the carotid artery.

The research used the genomic technique RNA sequencing to determine the effects of genes on mice.

These animals were protected from high blood sugar and it was discovered that the receptor GLP1 in the carotid is sensitized but this receptor is not very active in mice affected by high blood pressure.

“We never expected to see this role of GLP1, so it’s a great discovery,” the researchers said.

Carotid is the place where GLP1 controls blood sugar and blood pressure at the same time, he said.

Patients with high blood pressure or diabetes have an increased risk of fatal coronary heart disease complications, even after taking medication.

This is because most medicines treat only the symptoms and not the causes of blood pressure and blood sugar.

The researchers said that drugs have already been approved for the treatment of GLP1 receptors that are commonly used in diabetics, but they can also lower blood pressure by lowering blood sugar levels.

The results of this study were published in the medical journal Circulation Research

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE: Display problem spoils the fun

With the Galaxy S21 FE, Samsung has presented a very decent cell phone. Shortly after the start, however, reports from annoyed users increased – because the display has difficulties with the refresh rate. However, these could be eliminated with a software update. Galaxy S21

With the Galaxy S21 FE, Samsung has not opted for a variable frame rate. Instead, either 60 or 120 Hertz is used. This is exactly where an error crept in, as user reports suggest. The refresh rate of the AMOLED display sometimes slips below 60 Hertz, which makes every animation appear slow (source: SamMobile).

Affected users are currently using a simple interim solution. It is therefore already sufficient to switch the screen off briefly and then on again. But since this can be a bit annoying in everyday life, users are now hoping for a real solution from Samsung. This could be provided in the form of a small software update. Whether and when this will appear is not yet certain. Luckily there is no hardware problem.

Doing household chores keep women in good health

Household chores keep women healthy.

Research has shown that older women who regularly do small household chores such as washing dishes, cleaning the house and cooking are much healthier than those who just sit back and eat. Are

University of California experts studied 5,500 women who were asked to wear movement tracking gadgets for a week.

The results showed that women who remained active at least four hours a day had a two-thirds lower risk of dying from a heart attack or stroke.

Routine activities include daily activities such as cooking, housework, gardening and even bathing.

A New research in the Journal of the American Heart Association suggests that even if the above-mentioned housework is further reduced, older women can maintain good health, allowing them to live longer.

Huawei FreeBuds 4i: the best affordable wireless headphones

FreeBuds 4i

The Huawei FreeBuds 4i are headphones offer excellent audio quality as well as their noise reduction.

We all know that Huawei is making great efforts to stay in the smartphone market. The company is offering great products to attract consumers. FreeBuds 4i is one their attractive product which effect reduces surrounding sound. The good thing is that company is offering such products at a reasonable price. Their good product and low price has made them interesting headphones in this price bracker.

Huawei offers headphones with passive isolation coupled with active noise reduction in Freebuds 4i.
This technology allows you to enjoy crystal clear sound, even in a noisy environment.

The presence of two microphones, which act to reduce ambient noise, up to 22 dB according to the brand.

The active noise reduction is indeed felt and allows you to isolate yourself in part. However, do not expect noise reduction worthy of the best headphones on the market like AirPods Pro or the Sony WF-1000XM4.

But we will have to take into consideration that Huawei is offering this function at an affordable price.

A Perception mode is included it helps you hear what’s going on around you without having to take off your headphones – practical in certain situations such as crossing a pedestrian crossing or listening to an announcement at the station.

On the audio side, Huawei’s headphones offer a warm and balanced sound reproduction, broadcast thanks to the speakers – or transducers – 10 mm in diameter in each of the two headphones. In addition, true wireless headphones are well compatible with the classic codecs such as Bluetooth SBC and AAC , but we will not be able to find aptX or LDAC. For this price range, they have the merit of being quite precise and efficient, especially in vocals or treble.

Pleasant to wear and surprisingly durable
In addition to offering a rather warm sound, the FreeBuds 4i are comfortable once in the ear canal. With their in-ear format, they will adapt perfectly to the shape of your ear thanks to the various silicone tips provided.

They will be able to be forgotten during long listening sessions. They are also equipped with capacitive sensors for simplified and intuitive touch control. For the case that houses the earphones, it will slip easily into your pocket, as it retains the same oval pebble shape as the FreeBuds Pro.

Finally, the headphones are very durable. The Chinese manufacturer promises a usage time of 10 hours without noise reduction activated, and 7.5 hours with it. We especially appreciate their ability to recharge quickly, because 25 minutes are enough to recharge them 100% once placed in their case. Moreover, the latter will lose a large part of its battery after this recharge, so you should not rely too

is Nightography Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra specialty?

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, marketed on February 25, invites itself to our test bench. The opportunity to check if the smartphone, presented as a specialist in night photography or “Nightography” in the manufacturer’s jargon, is as comfortable in the dark as it promises.

Galaxy S22 Ultra features Nightography.

Before getting to the heart of the matter, a material point. The Galaxy S22 Ultra stands alone in the S22 range, since it is the only smartphone of the trio to bet on a main sensor of 108 megapixels, flanked by a wide-angle lens (f / 1.8) and an optical stabilization system. When the S22 and S22+ rely on a 50-megapixel main module, the device is a continuation of its predecessor, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which was among the best photophones of 2021.

Samsung evokes “Nightography”, that is to say night photography, as the main weapon of its device: it indicates that it has opted for a sensor with photosites 23% larger than those of the S21 Ultra. Logically, it is therefore capable of absorbing more light, and therefore of restoring more information. But, as everyone knows, the figures are not enough: the results delivered by the smartphone combine sensor quality, properties of the associated optics and software processing performance. A subtle cocktail whose recipe we tested in the laboratory.

Strong smartwatch at a bargain price: The Huawei Watch 3 Active can do that

With the Watch 3, Huawei has launched a really good smartwatch that scores in almost all categories in the test.

The Huawei Watch 3 at a glance
The Huawei Watch 3 is packed with everything that can fit into such a small smartwatch. The watch offers GPS, Bluetooth, WLAN and LTE (eSIM), among other things.

In addition to the obligatory pedometer, the sensors include a position, acceleration and brightness sensor, a heart rate monitor, ECG, a measurement of oxygen saturation and even a fall detection. Of course, the smartwatch is also waterproof.

Technically, there is nothing wrong with the watch. However, the smartwatch has one drawback: since there is no connection to the Google Play Store, the selection of apps is very limited. If that doesn’t bother you, you’ll get a very good watch at a fair price.

Galaxy Watch 3 or Watch 3 Pro?

Technically, the watches are almost identical. However, the Pro model is a corner larger and thus also offers a more powerful battery. In addition, titanium is used for the case, while stainless steel is used in the standard model.

The Huawei Watch 3, together with its Pro counterpart, is the best Android smartwatch

It deserves this position in particular thanks to its sharp OLED display, the extensive technical equipment including mobile communications, fall detection and water protection as well as a enormously long-lasting battery. Unfortunately, the absence of Google services also causes some limitations. NFC is therefore not usable outside of China and you will look in vain for Google Maps or even Spotify. But at least some of the annoyances can be avoided with a paired smartphone

The Huawei Watch 3 offers pretty much everything that currently fits in a smartwatch. Included are GPS, LTE, WLAN, an altitude sensor, a heart rate monitor and even a fall detection. What you have to do without, however, is a connection to the Google Play Store – the app selection is therefore limited

Researchers discover the link between air pollution and infertility in men

This was revealed in a medical study – shutter stock photo

Air pollution affects sperm quality and increases the risk of infertility in men.

This was discovered in a new medical study .

The study, published in the medical journal JAMA Networks, looked at more than 30,000 men from China.

Research has also shown that the smaller the volume of contaminants in the air, the greater the effects on sperm.

Researchers say that small particles in the air can have more negative effects on reproductive health than large particles.

The results show that men of childbearing age should try to avoid air pollution as much as possible.

Medical experts have long been working on the link between air pollution and sperm quality, but it was not clear how much it increases the risk of infertility in men, but research reports show that

But it did indicate that air pollution increases the risk of infertility in both men and women.

The study, conducted by Tongji University School of Medicine in China, examined data from 33,786 men in 340 Chinese cities, with an average age of 34 years.

The rates of air pollution in these cities varied and it was observed that between January 2013 and December 2019, the wives of men became pregnant with the help of reproduction technology.

The sperm quality of the men was then tested in particles of different volumes of air pollution.

Although researchers have been able to find a clear link between air pollution and sperm quality (sperm count or quantity), they must know that the smaller the pollutant particles, the more their quality is affected.

According to researchers, small contaminants may travel deeper into the human lungs, causing more adverse effects.

An earlier medical study in China in February 2021 found that air pollution could significantly increase the risk of infertility in both men and women.

The study, analyzing data from 18,000 pairs in China, found that in areas with high particulate matter pollution rates, the risk of infertility increased by up to 20%.

Research has not been able to determine how air pollution can lead to infertility, but it is already known that polluted particles cause inflammation in the body, which can affect the reproductive system of both men and women.

Infertility affects the lives of millions of couples around the world, but little has been done to address the effects of air pollution.

However, it is already known about polluted air that it increases the risk of various aspects such as premature birth and low birth weight problems.

Chen Lee, who was involved in the study from Peking University’s Center for Reproductive Medicine, said couples should be concerned about air pollution.

About 30% of infertile couples do not know the cause of infertility, he said.

“Age, body weight and smoking are common factors for infertility, but our research shows that even small nighttime air pollution increases the risk,” he said.

The POCO F4 GT is about to conquer the world market – A smartphone for gamers

Xiaomi presented the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition in China, so we have to wait for its global premiere. And as was the case with the gaming variant Redmi K40, we will be dealing with a name change again, this time to POCO F4 GT.

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition has sold out like hot cakes, because it cannot be described otherwise. After its premiere in China, 70,000 copies of this smartphone were sold in the first flash sale, generating a revenue of $ 54 million. It can be expected that the smartphone outside China will earn even more, although we will have to look for it on the shelves under a changed name. This, however, should not surprise anyone, the same thing happened with the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will debut on the global market as the POCO F4 GT

Confirmation of this was found in the Mi code by the Xiaomiui service . According to their findings, in India, and then all over the world, the new gaming Redmi K50 will be known as POCO F4 GT. Taking into account the words of the head of POCO India, according to which the successor of the F3 GT will cost less than 50,000 rupees , it may turn out that the new POCO will be the cheapest smartphone powered by via SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the world. These are, of course, only assumptions that will be confirmed during the official premiere. Its date is not known to us yet, although we expect it to happen soon. We also do not know if the device will eventually come to Poland as well.

It is worth waiting for the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition / POCO F4 GT, because Xiaomi has equipped this model really well. This is not surprising, because it was created mainly for mobile players. the latest processor from Qualcomm is supported by 8 or 12 GB of LPPDDR5 RAM and 128 or 256 GB of memory for UFS 3.1 data. The battery has a capacity of 4700 mAh, but supports record-fast charging with a power of 120W.

The OLED screen has a diagonal of 6.67 inches, Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is protected against scratches and damage by Gorilla Glass Victus. As we could have expected, in terms of photography, the Redmi K50 GE does not impress us, because the triple configuration consists of the main sensor 64 Mpix (Sony IMX686, f / 1.65), wide-angle 8 Mpix (119 °, f / 2.2) and 2 Mpix telemacro .

Migraine: why does it start?

Excess food, change in the rhythm of life, stress, genetics, so many factors that favor the appearance of these headaches.

This chronic disease is characterized by attacks of intense headaches. A distinction is made between migraines with and without aura. Indeed, some seizures are accompanied by transient and totally reversible neurological manifestations. Among these are visual disturbances (bright spots, blurred vision, etc.), sensory disturbances such as tingling at the fingertips or part of the face, or language problems. Symptoms can last between 30 minutes and an hour. These manifestations usually occur just before or at the very beginning of the migraine headache.

In the majority of cases, migraine is triggered without atmosphere. The pain is willingly throbbing, modeled on the beating of the heart. Most of the time, it occurs on one side of the head, at the temple, or in one eye. “What characterizes the migraine attack is the presence of accompanying signs, in addition to pain, that is to say nausea, sensitivity to light and noise, possibly to smells. The crisis can hamper the pursuit of its activities. In some patients, the pain can last up to 72 hours,” sums up Dr. Sylvain Redon from the Pain Assessment and Treatment Center – Timone Hospital ( Marseille ).). In children, migraine does not manifest in quite the same way. Often, it is characterized by paleness on the face and prominent digestive disturbances (such as vomiting).

Studies have been carried out to understand what is the origin of migraine. According to a recent study conducted by the University of California at San Diego ( United States ), it would find its source, in the people concerned, even before coming into the world, in utero. This research, conducted with more than 50,000 people, shed light on some prenatal factors like hormone levels in the womb during pregnancy.

If the precise origin of migraine remains undetermined, certain triggering factors are now well identified. First of all, this disease is linked to a genetic predisposition. “Migraines are triggered by a sensitivity to certain factors. Some daily deviations may be responsible. For example, a different sleep rhythm, a stressful situation, hormonal factors such as the decrease in estrogen levels that accompanies menstruation,” emphasizes Dr. Sylvain Redon

The weather also seems to have a role in the onset of a migraine attack. Indeed, the drop in atmospheric pressure can have repercussions for some people. “Food excess or deprivation are also factors favoring the onset of a migraine attack. In addition, dehydration plays a role,” warns Dr. Redon. In some migraine sufferers, the consumption of alcohol, chocolate, or cold cuts can also promote the onset of an attack.

If there is no miracle solution to avoid migraines, it is possible to reduce the risk. “Without focusing solely on the triggering factors, it is useful, on a daily basis and as far as possible, to try to limit them”, finally recommends the Marseille neurologist.
